The SCADaddle for Research is a 5km walk starting and finishing at Cornelian Bay in Hobart, Tasmania on Sunday, 28 October 2018 to raise awareness and much needed research funds to solve the mystery of SCAD!
Walkers will meet from 9am and from 10am will walk from Cornelian Bay in Hobart to the Botanic Gardens, followed by a picnic for those who can stay.
What is SCAD? Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection is an uncommon emergency heart condition that occurs when a tear forms in one of the blood vessels in the heart, causing a heart attack or sudden death. SCAD heart attacks typically occur in people with no standard risk factors for heart attack, the average age of patients is just 42 and 80% of sufferers are women.
