The contest is conducted in 10 year brackets (30-39; 40-49 etc) with the team age bracket being determined by the youngest member on the day of contest. Winners are announced and certificates presented at the National Championships each year. In 2009, the Tasmanian Women’s 40-49, 4 x 800m team of Sharon Coad, Carolyn Davis, Francesca Smith and Debbie Crawford won their competition in 10 minutes, 39 seconds, smashing the Australian record by 38 seconds.
