Events are conducted at a local level in both Northern and Southern Tasmania. Track and Field (Summer), Road and Cross Country events are held on most weekends. State and National Track and Field Championships are conducted annually.

Road and Cross Country Championships are conducted in conjunction with Athletics Tasmania during the Winter competition.

Opportunities to compete at a world level are provided by the bi-annual World, World Indoor and Oceania Championships. Road and Cross Country Championships are conducted in conjunction with Athletics Tasmania during the Winter Competition.

A feature of Masters competition is Age Grading where tables of "age factors" and "age standards" place all athletes on a level playing field regardless of age and sex.

 

Unless otherwise advertised, TMA fun runs commence at 10.00am in the north of the state and 11.00am in the south.
